Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku is confident the club is the perfect place for him to develop and win laurels in the future.

Opoku joined the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year deal from Division One side Nkoranza Warriors SC and has already commenced training where he scored five goals in a friendly game at the Adako Jachie Training Ground.

The highly-rated forward will be available for selection during the second round of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season which has been halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Kotoko Express App, he disclosed that Kotoko is the best place for me to improve his career because there is unity in the squad.

"Teamwork is key if a team can achieve its goals. There is unity in the team and the players are very good as well," he said.

"This makes Kotoko the best place for me to improve my career. The club has a lot to achieve if we can remain united.

"They all put up their best in training, and I will also kill myself, so I can also improve the team and my career."

He added, "I knew some of the Kotoko players even before I came here. I met a few of them at the national team camp, and they were very friendly and sociable."

"Those guys welcomed me very well. And those I did not know like (Emmanuel) Gyamfi and Felix (Annan) also showed me love, and I love them back as well.

"The coaches are also very friendly. They correct us when necessary and also jog with us during training. The club has a lot to achieve if we will continue like that."
