Kwarasey: It’ll be unfair to bench me

Ghana international goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey has pointed out that it will be unfair if Stromsgodset decided to bench him due to his refusal to extend his contract.

Kwarasey is in no rush to commit his future to the Norway champions and will only take a decision after the World Cup. The contract of the Ghanaian ends this summer and has already rejected three fresh contracts.

Stromsgodset have a good backup shot-stopper in Sead Ramovic, but the Norway-born Ghanaian does not fear losing his place as the first keeper in the wake of events.

“No, I’ve been at the club for seven years, and I have been loyal to them for all those years. It would be unfair if they put me on the bench because my contract runs out, but I do not think that will happen,” Kwarasey told Nettavisen. “I have been in highs and lows with this club over seven years, and I think that will not happen.”

He added: “The situation is as it is, and so it is in all the clubs. If one should bench all those whose contracts are ending there are many players who are going to sit on the bench.”

Kwarasey is expected to be Ghana’s number one at Brazil 2014 and has been on the radar of Hertha Berlin among others.
