Kwarasey tastes defeat in his Portland Timbers debut

Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey tasted defeat on his debut for Portland Timbers in their 1-0 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps in the ongoing Simple Invitational tournament on Sunday night.

The ex-Stromgodset Captain, who lasted the entire duration of the match, was heavily criticized by fans for coming way off his line at several points in the game, exposing his goal area.

Kwarasey conceded the only goal of the match after he was caught ball watching when Pa Moudo Kah headed in from a Mauro Rosales assist.

The 26-year-old was handed his debut appearance by Coach Caleb Porter after he recovered from a tight hip last Wednesday.

Fellow Ghanaian international Gershon Koffie came off the Vancouver Whitecaps bench in the 76th minute to replace Matias Laba.

Kwarasey and his Timbers team-mates will now have to prepare to face David Accam’s Chicago Fire on Wednesday.
