The General Overseer of Potter's City, Prophet Nanasei Opoku-Sarkodie, has hailed James Kwasi Appiah as one of the best coaches Ghana has ever had, highlighting his remarkable achievements in football.
Prophet Opoku-Sarkodie pointed to Appiah's success in leading Ghana to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, including the memorable victory over Egypt, as a defining moment in his career.
According to the prophet, such accomplishments set Appiah apart from other national team coaches in Ghana's history.
The prophet also commended him for his resilience, especially in difficult moments when his team faced setbacks and defeats.
He lauded Kwasi Appiah for maintaining composure and standing firm in the face of pressure.
Speaking to his congregation, Prophet Opoku-Sarkodie said, “Coach Kwasi Appiah is one of the best coaches Ghana has ever had. I often wonder how they feel when they lose matches. It is not easy to handle defeats.”
He made these comments during a visit by Kwasi Appiah to his church.
Appiah's coaching journey continues to earn him accolades both in Ghana and internationally.
He recently received praise for his achievements with the Sudan national team, particularly for qualifying them for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
This was a historic achievement for Sudan, especially given the country's political and social challenges.
In the qualification campaign, Sudan managed a goalless draw against Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium and triumphed in the return leg in Libya, securing their place at the prestigious tournament.
Coach Appiah is now looking forward to making a significant impact at the 2025 AFCON and further solidifying his legacy as one of Africa's finest football coaches.
