Kwasi Appiah must bring the best out of the Ayew brothers against Ethiopia - JE Sarpong

Former Hearts of Oak coach J.E Sarpong has admitted his excitement at the news of Andre and Jordan Ayew's return to the Black Stars squad but wants team coach Kwesi Appiah to bring the best out of the duo when they lock horns with Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on November 18.

The brothers had been sidelined since September last year after they allegedly faked sickness and injury to skip the game against Congo in Brazzaville.

With Ghana struggling in the campaign, Sarpong believes it is the perfect time for the pair's return.

"I'm glad that they are coming back but Kwesi Appiah must be able to manage their return very well in order to get the best out of them," he told Goal.

"I believe Appiah did well in his decision to ignore them initially because what they did to him by refusing to feature in the game against Congo was disheartening. Differences have been solved now so the brothers need management from the coach in order to get results against Ethiopia."

"We cannot just discard them and with their return, it is highly possible that we will defeat Ethiopia in Addis Ababa and then finish off Kenya in the final game to qualify to the tournament," Sarpong added.

Ghana occupy third place in Group F with three points, four adrift of leaders Kenya and one behind Ethiopia.
