Kwesi Appiah blames media for disrupting his camp

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has accused the media for publishing false stories to disturb the unity of his team.

The Black Stars are on a mission to redeem themselves from the World Cup disappointment in Brazil as they kick start their qualifiers for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations against Uganda this weekend.

The Black Stars camp in Brazil was troubled by agitation of players over delayed payment of their promised appearance fees.

Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng were also expelled and subsequently handed indefinite suspensions for engaging in acts of indiscipline.

But coach Kwesi Appiah has bemoaned the alarming rate of false stories churned out by the media concerning his team.

Appiah says these false publications played its role in threatening the unity of his team.

“Most of the times, divisions come when most of the stories that come out are not true,” he said.

“The Black Stars is not for me, it is not for the players and it is not for the president of the Ghana FA, it is for all Ghanaians so we should get behind this team with our support.”
