The spokesperson for the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie has revealed that Black Stars head Coach Kwesi Appiah has failed to have any form of communication with Jordan and Andre Ayew, and has consistently failed to explain to the duo why they have not been invited to the national team in recent times.
The Ayew brothers appear to have been frozen out of the Black Stars, with head coach Kwesi Appiah failing to invite the two players in the last one year.
Reports of a rift between the pair and the Black Stars manager have been dismissed by both camps but recent comments by persons close to both Kwesi Appiah and the Ayew brothers point to the fact that all is not well.
Recently Fiifi Tackie called out Appiah saying he is not a good manager. "He [Kwesi Appiah] is a coach and not a manager," he told Accra based Atinka FM. "We are not fighting Kwesi Appiah but what we're contending is the notion that Ayew brothers not been committed to Black Stars.
"A lot of Kwesi Appiah's remarks after the Ayews exclusion are purely insinuations. He cast insinuations at the players and we know," he added.
Speaking on the exclusion of some notable names from his recent call-ups including the Ayew brothers and Asamoah Gyan, Appiah maintained that he has not shut the door on any player, adding that he is only trying to have other options when the regular players are unavailable.
But Fiifi Tackie said that assertion by Kwesi Appiah is inaccurate and untrue because as a show of respect, the coach could have at least informed and explain to the players why he is leaving them out of the team.
“ I can tell you that since the World Cup qualifier against Congo somewhere last year, coach Kwesi Appiah hasn’t spoken to the boys. No form of communication whatsoever. I am saying this because I heard C.K Akonnor saying that he is sure Kwesi Appiah has spoken to the players and explained to them the reasons for the exclusion,” Fiifi said on Asempa FM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
