Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is determined to produce players who win will win CAF awards under his tenure.
Appiah intends to build a title winning side that will give produce candidates to be considered.
No Ghanaian player made it in the final shortlists for this year's prestigious African Footballer of the Year and Best Player based in Africa awards.
''The intention has been to build a winsome team and for that reason they will need some time to mature so its difficult for them to win an accolade now,'' he told Starr Sports during the unveiling of the top three nominees for the 2017 CAF awards ceremony at the Movenpick Ambassador hotel.
''But once next year or two,they will all be matured for them to be nominated for future CAF awards event.''
The last Ghanaian player to win the African gong was Abedi Pele who won it thrice from 1991-1993.
Sammy Kufour, Andre Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan have in recent times emerged runners-up.
