Following his triumphant victory as the newly elected President of the Confederation of Africa Football, the President of the Ghana FA Kwesi Nyantakyi believes Ahmad Ahmad was destined to lead the federation.
As the head of the Madagascar Football Association, Ahmad Ahmad pulled an unexpected 34 votes out of the 54 CAF delegates to maul outgoing President Issah Hayatou.
The victory which was hailed all over Africa as many described Hayatou’s 29 years reign as CAF Boss as enough for the continent.
Many Ghanaians have raised concerns that young and intelligent as Kwesi Nyantakyi is, it was a missed opportunity for him to be CAF President especially when it was clear that the end had come for Hayatou.
“It is destiny that has pronounced Ahmad Ahmad as the CAF President. It could be Aisha (Sierra Leone FA Boss) or any other person and that is what God has designed,” Kwesi Nyantakyi told the media after arriving from the CAF election
The affable Ghana FA Boss who was also re-elected as the Anglophone representative on the FIFA Council advised that people should not get jealous over others who have risen to high positions in life.
“Never get jealous about your friend or colleague who has the opportunity to become somebody. Your time will come. God’s time is always the best,” he added.
