Victory today will send Kotoko into the quarter-final of the CAF Confed Cup Victory today will send Kotoko into the quarter-final of the CAF Confed Cup

Hello, good afternoon and welcome to our continuous coverage of Kotoko's exploits in the CAF Confederation Cup this year.

The Ghana Premier League side are on the cusp of qualifying to the quarter-finals of the competition but first, they must try and beat Sudanese club Al Hilal when the two sides meet at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium this afternoon.

Asante Kotoko despite being hit with injuries ahead of this game have been handed a major boost with the return of midfielder Richard Senanu who joined his teammates for training this week ahead of the game.

Richard Senanu was ruled out of Kotoko’s game against Nkana FC due to injury he picked in the first leg in Kitwe.

Kotoko are hopeful that they can maintain their impressive home run in the competition ahead of this game.

They defeated Nkana FC by 3-0 in matchday four at home and are yet to lose a game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the on-going competition.

Heading to the game against Al Hilal on Sunday, Vice-Captain of the club Felix Annan is urging the supporters to rally behind the team as they are assured of a victory against the Sudanese club.

“We keep working and we are very much focused. We are going into Sunday's game against Al-Hilal FC with the same mentality and we are bent on winning again this weekend. We want to win the rest of our games, he told Accra based radio station Asempa FM.

Akakpo Patron also says his side is expecting a tough game against Al Hilal on match day.
"Our next game won’t be an easy one because we played them before but we must win at all cost. We have to get a very convincing win to top the group”, he added.

The Porcupine Warriors lost by a lone goal to Al Hilal in the opening game in Omdurman. They will be searching for revenge this afternoon and with Nkana beating Zesco earlier today, a win for Kotoko will confirm their qualification to the quarter-finals.

The Game will start at 4pm GMT. Stay with us for the updates.
