Hello and welcome to our LIVE UPDATES of the Premier League meeting between Manchester United and Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
United have won back-to-back matches under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, scoring eight times in seeing off Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town over the past eight days, and they can now move to within three points of fifth-place Arsenal with another victory today.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, have lost seven of their last nine matches - including heavy defeats to Liverpool and Tottenham this month - to drift down to their current standing of 12th.
Solskjaer makes four changes on the back of his side’s 3-1 win over Huddersfield here a few days ago, including a return at right-back for Young, who takes over from injured teenager Diogo Dalot to captain the hosts. Martial is also back after recovering from illness, filling in for the benched Mata, while Bailly is picked ahead of Jones at centre-back and Herrera replaces Fred. Lukaku is back in the matchday squad after being granted compassionate leave over the festive period.
Visiting boss Eddie Howe has made three alterations on the back of the heavy Boxing Day defeat to Tottenham, bringing in Ibe, King and Rico for Fraser, Lerma and the injured Simon Francis. Rico’s inclusion will likely mean a change of system for Bournemouth, too, with the Spaniard expected to fill in at left wing-back in a 3-5-2 formation of sorts, which is spearheaded by Wilson and United academy product King.
