The Black Stars will hope to make it two wins in a row against Our Boys, who are fine tuning ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

After defeating Japan 2-0 last week, Ghana will take on Iceland in an international friendly at Laugardalsvollur on Thursday.

While Iceland are preparing for the upcoming Fifa World Cup, the Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is hoping to use the game to restructure his team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Iceland, who will face an African team, Nigeria, in Group D at the World Cup, believe Ghana would be a good test.

"Ghana is a good side and they have good players too. I believe this game will be a good preparation for us since we will play another country from their end at the World Cup," Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson said.

"We lost all our last three games but hope to make amends this time around and get good atmosphere for the tournament," he added.

Levante striker Emmanuel Boateng, who has been touted as an ideal replacement for Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan, is expected to make his second appearance for the Black Stars after scoring on his debut against Japan and he believes he can score again.

“As a striker, all you think about always is to score goals," Boateng told 442gh.

"When going into any game, you don’t think about defending but to score and win. I’m happy I scored on my Black Stars debut and I’ll score again against Iceland if I get the chance. I believe with the help of my team mates, I’ll score again,” he added.

According to Ghana FA's communication team, Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah, who did not turn up against Japan, has joined his teammates ahead of Iceland clash.
