Lartei Lartey fights Batista in New Jersey

US based Ghanaian boxer, Emmanuel Lartey faces another test of his world championship credentials against Jonathan Batista of the Dominican Republic in a 6-round contest at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey this Friday April 19, 2013.

Welterweight Lartey (14-0-1, 7 KOs) alias ‘Ice Cold’ who now lives in The Co-Op City section of the Bronx, New York under the tutelage of his manager, Attorney Eric Okyere Darko has sworn to become a world champion and has already impressed US boxing bigwigs of his massive potential following January’s convincing victory over Newark’s Michael “Slick”Anderson in front of Anderson’s hometown fans.

Now he faces the sternest of tests from the also unbeaten Batista 13-0, 6 KOs on the undercard of Fortuna vrs Zamudio WBA featherweight title fight, a ESPN 2 show due to be telecast live all over America on the worldwide leader in Sports, ESPN. But the hard hitting Ghanaian pugilist is eager to take his chance as envisioned by his manager. ““Lartey is on a mission and that mission is to become the welterweight champion of the world. He’s worked long and hard to get to the top and his perseverance is starting to pay off. There is no looking back now,” Atorney Okyere Darko has said.
