Laryea Kingston moves to Israel

Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston is set to return to active football after agreeing a two-year deal with Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

The 31-year-old has been unattached since terminating his contract with Dutch Eredivisie Vitesse Arnhem last year.

Kingston was prevented from playing for local side Heart of Oak after they failed to secure his International Transfer Certificate.

His moves increases the rank of Ghanaian players at the club to four after Ibrahim Basit, James Bissue and Ibrahim Abdul Razak.

Kingston claims he has energy the play top flight football.

“I’m looking fresh, feeling good and I have six more years of football in me. With the advantage of the experience I have had throughout Europe in my career, I think this is the right time to be focused and get the club benefit from me,” Kingston told Accra-based Joy FM.

Kingston played for Israeli sides Maccabi Ahi Nazareth and Hapoel Tel Aviv between 2003 and 2004.

Be’er Sheva finished 9th in the 2010/2011 Israeli Premier League.
