Former Ghana winger Laryea Kingston has tipped Andre Ayew to come good for West Ham United in the English Premier League despite competition for places following the arrival of top players.
The Irons have augmented their squad ahead of the English Premier League campaign with top quality players like Marko Aunautovic and Javier Hernandez.
However, former Hearts of Midlotian attacker Laryea Kingston believes the 25-year-old has a lot to prove this season after his somewhat subdued debut performance for the club after his record deal from Swansea City.
“One thing about Ayew is that he works so hard and even when things are not going his way he tries to do something because he plays with his heart," Laryea told GHONE TV.
“He was unfortunate to get injured in last season’s opener against Chelsea but he finished the season very well. But now that West Ham have signed all these players who are mostly attackers I know he (Ayew) will step up because he likes competition so I still instill my confidence in him,” Laryea said.
Ayew will hoping to be handed a starting berth by manager Slaven Billic when the face off against Manchester United in the season opener this afternoon at Old Trafford.
