Laryea rescinds decision on his children’s future

Former Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston has revealed that the idea of allowing any of his children to follow in his footsteps was alien to him, but he has rescinded his decision.

According to him, football was a very tricky and difficult occupation to be in and would have preferred his children to take other occupations like doctors, lawyers, accountants and even politics, as compared to football.

“Football is an occupation which has a lot of factors and it’s not only dependent on the player. The coaches, his colleagues, the Club he is playing for and other factors are involved to make or break the player, and honestly, I would want my boys to venture into that area”, Laryea told sportscrusader.com.

“But after watching my boys play for the respective schools a couple of times, I decided to let go of that thought and let them chose their own profession.”

“Jacob is one of the reasons I changed my mind because he has taken after me and is doing very well, although I discouraged him initially.”

“But I realized that allowing all three of my children to choose their careers and support them will be the best for the entire family”, he noted.
