Newly promoted La Liga side Las Palmas have completed the signing of Mubarak Wakaso on loan from Rubin Kazan with an option to buy.

The 25-year-old joins the Yellows on his second consecutive loan, having spent last season at Scottish giants Celtic where he made just five league appearances.

During his unveilling on Monday, Wakaso said: “I have come to UD because it is a big club in Spain.”

“I am here to help the team and do great things.I will train well in order to get minutes [in game time].

“I'm in a good moment in my career. I think it's good for my future coming here.”

Palmas’ director general Toni Cruz added: “We appreciate the efforts of Wakaso to come to Las Palmas and also their agents.

“For us, it was one of those opportunities that arise once in a lifetime.

“The player is very versatile and can play in any position [in] midfield and even play on the wings.

“It gives us a leap in quality for speed [and] aggressiveness in the game.”

Wakaso’s latest move is set to be his fourth in Spain after joining Elche in 2008, Villarreal in 2011 as well as Espanyol in 2012.

The former Ashanti Gold man joined Kazan from Espanyol in the summer of 2013 after a phenomenal La Liga season where he registered three goals in 26 appearances.

His first season in Russia would, however, not be as flamboyant as he made just 14 appearances.
