League to go its full lenght

The Spokesman for the Ghana Football Association,Ransford Abbey has stated that all the 30 matches to be played by every club in the 2007/08 Onetouch Premier League would go on as planned.Mr Abbey, who is also the Executive Chairman of newly qualified premier league side Kessben FC said, looking at the time frame, there is nothing to suggest that the league will be played on zonal basis as it has happened before.

According to Mr Abbey, the proposed date by the Ghana League Clubs Association(GHALCA) and the Professional League Board(PLB) for the commencement of the premier league (ie 24th/25th. of November,2007),will see 10 matches being cleared before the start of Ghana CAN 2008. After the Nations Cup, the remaining 5 matches will be honoured to draw the curtain down for the first round of the league.

He again stressed that, the 2nd transfer window shall be opened to enable the clubs register new players."Baring any hitch, the league is expected to round-up in a period not too far from May".

The FA spokesman echoed that in drawing the formulae for the league,Clubs participation in CAF Inter Club Competitions were also factored in.

A school of thought is of the view that the clubs will be financially crippled as they play mid-week matches but,Randy replied that with good PR system and propper marketing strategy coupled with good performance, the clubs should be able to draw their teeming supporters to the various stadia.
