Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, Geroge Afriyie has hinted that the 2015/16 league could start next month.

The league which was tentatively scheduled to kick off on the 20th of this month could not start due to some legal issues amongst some clubs.

The football family has been left in a state of uncertainty as no one knew when the league could start.

Earlier reports in the media had revealed that the league could start on the 27th of January which was vehemently denied by the Deputy FA Chief.

Even though the Vice President of the Federation and Management Committee Chairman of the Black Stars denied those reports, he says the league could start next month.

“I can say on authority that we have not fixed any date for the commencement of the league, but a new date will be announced soon.”

“From my position as the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, I can say that the league will start in the last week of January,” George Afriyie told Nhyira FM.

“I can’t really give a fixed date that the league will start, but I can assure you that the league will start very soon.”
