Lee Addy shown Red Star exit door

Black Stars defender Lee Addy has been placed on the transfer list by Serbia side Red Star Belgrade.

Addy is one of eleven players deemed surplus to requirement by Red Star coach Robert Prosinecki after a poor first half of the season by the Belgrade giants.

Red Star are 10 points behind Serbian champions and league leaders Partizan Belgrade suffered an early exit from European competition forcing Prosinecki to act.

“We need to inject fresh blood into the club at once by adding young talents from Red Star’s academy,” Prosinecki told reporters on Monday.

“They are the club’s future and I am convinced that’s the only right way of looking at things because signing players who become surplus to requirements after six months is not the best policy,” he said.

Addy joined Red Star from Ghana side Berekum Chelsea after appearing for the Black Stars after the 2010 World Cup and has made over 30 appearances for the club.

He ran into problems with the side after they accused him of returning late from international duty in March this year.
