Ghanaian Division Two club Legionary Soccer Academy has arrived in Europe to compete in the 2024 Norwegian Cup tournament.

The club, based in Asebu Agyendam in the Central Region of Ghana, sent a 20-man team comprising players and technical staff for the tournament, which kicks off on July 27.

The team successfully travelled to Norway thanks to Brighterway Travel and Tour Agency, which is owned by the CEO of the club, Bright John Nyarko.

Legionary Soccer Academy is one of 103 teams from around the world participating in the Norway Cup Under-19 Boys tournament. The teams have been divided into 26 groups, with the Ghanaian club placed in Group 15. Legionary Soccer Academy will face Follebu FL, Baune SK, and Molde FK in the group stages.

Before leaving Ghana, George Addy, the leading striker of the club, expressed his gratitude to Bright John Nyarko for making his dream possible.

“I want to urge young, talented footballers who want to succeed to join Legionary Soccer Academy. The CEO of the club has made it possible for us to get our visas and travel for this tournament.

“We at Legionary Soccer Academy are focused and know where we are heading, so we will follow our route and ensure everything is successful. We are going to represent Ghana in Norway, and I want to tell Ghanaians that we are going to bring the cup home,” stated Christian Mensah, the chief scout of Legionary Soccer Academy.
