Leicester boss unconcerned about GFA possible reaction to Schlupp’s EPL return

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson insists he does not care if the Ghana FA decides to react with a statement or a comment to left-back Jeffery Schlupp’s selection in Saturday’s 0-1 loss to Stoke City.

There are fears that the Ghana FA could take on Leicester City for using Schlupp in the English Premier League home clash with just two days to the Black Stars AFCON 2015 opener against Senegal, especially after claiming Schlupp’s knee injury would keep him out of action for 10 to 14 days.

But, Pearson claims the GFA must take responsibility for their decision to drop the 22-year-old from the Black Stars final squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

“They (GFA) decided not to include him in their (Black Stars) squad. If they’ve any problems, then they need to look at their own administrators. It’s nothing to do with me,” Pearson told reporters.

“What the Ghanaian FA decide to do in terms of making statements, how their administrators operate or comments the managers want to make, it’s entirely up to them, but quite frankly I couldn’t care less about that,” he added.

Jeffery Schlupp lasted for 71 minutes on the pitch following his return from the treatment room and was replaced by Thomas Lawrence in Leicester City’s defeat to Stoke.
