Hearts of Oak captain Robin Gnagne says lessons from Wednesday’s draw with WAFA propelled them to the famous win at AshantiGold.
Hearts of Oak pulled the strings to clinch a crucial 2-1 away win after a four-match winless run.
Striker Cosmos Dauda took the lead in 52nd minute and doubled the lead eight minutes later before defender Awudu Nafiu pulled one back in the 72nd minute.
"It was a good game. Last week we played against West Africa Football Academy, we went all out but didn't get all the points. We got just a point. We went back to correct our mistakes and this Sunday we came all out to win," he said.
