Liberty draw with Hearts of Lions

Kpando, Sept. 22 GNA - Kpando Heart of Lions and Liberty Professionals settled for a two-all drawn game in their mid-week Premier League match encounter at the Kpando Sports stadium.

Liberty Professionals humbled the homesters by two quick early goals in the seventh and the ninth minutes to the astonishment of the home fans. A long searching ball from Liberty's midfield dynamo, Stanley Afedzie found his team mate Tanko Adams who dribbled pass Lion's central defender, Siba Tahiru before beating goalie Mozart Adjetey of Lions for the first goal.

The second goal came from a two-man move between Liberty's Obeng Darko and Michael Helegbe, which saw Helegbe increasing the tally to two for his side.

Lions responded to the challenge and redeemed a goal in the 18th minute through Samuel Yeboah after Taju Dini and Kwame Awuku laid siege of Liberty's vital area to lay a pass for Yeboah to connect home a neat pass.

After the recess, both teams showed glimpses of carrying the day and thrilled the spectators to inter-positional and telepathy passes but missed the chances that came their way.

Yeboah was on hand again in the 76th minute when he took advantage of beating goalie Patrick Antwi in a goal-mouth melee yo fetch the much needed equalizer for his side.

Lions Jerry Akaminko was shown the red card for a second caution by referee William Agbovi of Suhum in the 81st minute.
