Liberty sink Feyenoord

Accra, Feb 14, GNA - Michael Insaidoo's first half loner on Wednesday sunk visiting Fetteh Feyenoord in their mid-week Premiership dual clash with Liberty Professionals at the Dansoman Carl Reindof Park. Insiadoo who was eventually voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match, squeezed from a close range past Feyenoord's goalkeeper Kojo Laomey in the 32nd minute after he profited from Sam Yeboah's hard work.

It was a tale of two halves as Liberty dominated the first but had to chase their shadows for most part of the second session. Liberty missed series of opportunities in the early stages with keeper Laomey staying in his elements to ensure the tally remained single.

The closest the visitors came to scoring was when creative genius, Mandela Ocansey got the scanty crowd on their feet by picking a pass deep in the left flank, wove his way through his markers in the middle and sent a curly shot that narrowly flew over the post. Feyenoord who are currently languishing in the lower ranks of the Premiership table resumed well from the break with a resurrection too late to change the scoreline.

Ho, (V/R) Feb. 14, GNA - Power FC on Wednesday beat visiting Real Tamale United (RTU) by 3-2 in their mid-week Onetouch Premier League match at the Ho Sports stadium.

It was Power FC who scored two quick goals within fifteen minutes of the first half through Coffie Francis and Shearer Allan respectively and held on to their advantage to end the half.

On resumption of the second half, Power who seemed poised to increase their goal tally failed as RTU redoubled their efforts as they changed their game plan to score also score two goals through Suleimana Faisal to level up the scores.

The two teams created a number of scoring chances but their attackers either missed the posts narrowly or hesitated in front of goal when it mattered most.

RTU showed a lot of confidence as they created anxious moments for the Power lads with their supporters becoming impatient with the quality of their play.

The stadium was however set alight when Power increased their tally to three in the 75th minute.

Try as they did, the RTU lads could not cancel the goal for a much needed eqauliser until the final whistle to bring some relief to the home fans.
