Lille president confirms Waris interest

Lille president Michel Seydoux has confirmed Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is on their wish list this transfer window.

Les Dogues are keen to bolster their squad after failing to reach the Group stage of the Champions League-losing to Portuguese side FC Porto in the playoffs.

The French Ligue 1 outfit has targeted the Spartak Moscow player as a replacement for Ivorian star Salomon Kalou who is set to join a Bundesliga side.

“Majeed Waris? This is an interesting player. It is better that I tell you the truth that he interests me. He is part of a list of players we are following ” Seydoux told RMC in an interview.

Waris spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated Valenciennes where he scored 9 goals.
