Lions beat Power

Kpando, Sept 20 GNA - Kpando Heart of Lions on Sunday defeated visiting Power F/C 2-1 in their Zone A Premier League match at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

The game which was delayed for about 45 minutes as a result of a heavy downpour saw a very determined Lions declaring their intensions to carry the day right from the blast of Takoradi-based referee E. M. Alhassan's whistled for the commencement of hostilities.

The home team's efforts were however, rewarded in the 36th minute when Dramani Aminu's goal bound shot went off the chest of goalie Alfred Mills of Power for Lions' Taju Bini who was lurking around to cheekily connect home.

Power's Alan Shearer equalised for his side barely three minutes into the second half, when he capitalised on a defensive blunder to beat goalie Baba Asampana in post for Lions.

Siba Ali Tahiru scored the winner for Lions from a spot kick after Power's Alex Gyanie had handled the ball in the penalty area during a melee in the 80th minute.
