List wins Achimota President’s Putter

Fifteen year-old Daniel List returned a net score of 66 to win this year’s Achimota Golf Club President’s Putter Open Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra.

List, who played to a single Handicap of five, scored 71 gross to clinch victory by beating a field of 120 golfers.

He was followed by Kwame Akafo with 68 net, beating Yaw Degbe and Reverend Amexando on count-back.

In the Ladies segment, Mushi Shittisho came first with 66 net, Mercy Bannerman took the second position with 70 net, while Joy Arkutu took the third position with 74 net.

Emos Korblah annexed the Professional’s trophy with 68 gross, Gordon Sai placed second with 69 gross, S.K. Klah came third with 70 gross while Vincent Cofie came fourth with 71 gross.

The one-day event which was opened to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country, was sponsored by Engen Petroleum Ghana Limited.

Nana Atta Nyamekye, the President of the Achimota Golf Club, commended the participants for the sportsmanship exhibited during the competition and urged them to take interest in the activities of their various golf clubs.

Mr Henry Akwaboah, Managing Director of Engen Petroleum Ghana Limited pledged the company’s commitment to support the development and promotion of the game.

He said his company would continue to play a leadership role in the oil industry.

Mr Akwaboah took the opportunity to introduce the company’s new range of products.
