Liverpool and Dortmund eye Dede

NEWCASTLE United face a battle to sign Marseille star Andre Ayew in the summer after Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund entered the chase for the forward.

Ayew is out of contract in the summer and is being monitored by a host of club.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to be a fan of the 25-year-old, who can play either on the wing or through the middle.

And reports claim German giants Dortmund are also interested in signing Ayew on a free transfer in the summer.

French media RMC claim that Newcastle, Liverpool and Everton have all tabled pre-contract offers for the player, who is understood to be keen on a move to England, with reports he has enlisted the services of former Arsenal chairman David Dein to help him with a move.

Newcastle have a long-standing interest in the attacker, with chief scout Graham Carr having watched him extensively.

However, Ayew is understood to prefer a move to Liverpool, especially if they can offer him European football next season.

The Ghana ace was one of the stars of the African Cup of Nations, where he missed out on a winner’s medal when the Black Stars were beaten by Ivory Coast on penalties last week.
