Ghana’s Black Stars edged out former Kenya Premier League champions Tusker FC 3-2 in a thrilling friendly played at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.

The Ghanaians, who are in the country for two weeks as they prepare for next month’s CHAN tournament in Sudan, were too good for the 2007 champions showing poise and control that proved too much for the brewers.

The visitors notched the opening goal in the first half through Gilbert Fiamenyo who headed home a cross to make it 1-0 at halftime.

They made it 2-0 a minute into second half through Asante Kotoko defender Mohammed Sabato whose fierce cross shot found the bottom corner of Tusker net.

The goal roused Tusker from their slumber and they pulled one back through towering defender Joseph Shikokoti who prodded the ball home from close range.

The Ghanaians quickly restored their two goal lead through a spectacular long range freekick by Emmanuel Clottey whose shot found the back of the net from 40 yards.

Tusker came back and Nigerian import Joseph Emeka reduced the arrears when he intercepted a back pass to score to make it 3-2.

Ghana will next play talent Academy at City stadium on Wednesday before facing Last season’s runners up Gor Mahia at Nyayo National stadium on Sunday.

The West Africans are enroute to Khartoum for the 2011 CHAN tournament where they are pulled together with Niger, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
