Ghanaian midfielder Latif Blessing has completed a move to Major League Soccer new franchise, Los Angeles FC, from Sporting Kansas, the two clubs have confirmed.

The 20-year-old joined Kansas last season in a two-year deal from Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals after winning the topscorer's award. Blessing had a superb start in the United States and has been selected as one of the six players in the MLS expansion.

"Los Angeles FC selected Sporting Kansas City forward Latif Blessing in the second round of the 2017 MLS Expansion Draft," a club statement read.

"Blessing, 20, joined Sporting Kansas City ahead of the 2018 season. The Ghanaian recorded six goals and two assists in 31 appearances across all competitions, notably scoring in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final as Sporting KC defeated the New York Red Bulls.

"Blessing becomes the 10th all-time Sporting KC player to be selected in an MLS Expansion Draft," the statement added.

Blessing has sent his gratitude to Kansas for the opportunity he had last season.

"I had a wonderful time with Sporting Kansas and I am grateful. I thank everyone at the club and the wonderful supporters for the opportunity," Blessing said.

"I hope and pray that the upcoming season will come with a lot of good moments as well since I'm going to join a new club and new setup. I will continue to do my best for the club," he added.
