Magic doesn’t win World Cup - Sports Minister

Youth and Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has stated that magic cannot ensure FIFA World Cup triumph for any country.

“The FIFA World Cup, which is the most competitive football tournament in the world, cannot be won through magic,” he said in a radio chat.

The Sports Minister observed that it would take hard work, proper preparations and tactical discipline to win the World Cup.

Hon. Ankrah gave the assurance that the Black Stars would prepare well so as to ensure that the team performed well in Brazil, this year.

He observed further that unity was one of the crucial ingredients to enable a team perform at the Mundial. Luckily, the Sports Minister said, there was total unity in the Black Stars team.

He refused to comment on rumours that Serbian trainer Milovan Rajavec might serve as Ghana’s technical director at the Mundial.

Hon. Ankrah said he was not aware of any moves to engage the service of the Serbian so he would not comment on the issue.
