Ghana international attacker Mahatma Otoo scored his first goal of the season for Sogndal IF as they thrashed lower-tier side Lysekloster 5-1 in the Norwegian Cup on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old Black Stars striker doubled the lead for Sogndal with a clinical 23rd minute strike at Os in the early stages of the campaign.
Otoo had been battling with injury since the start of the Norwegian season but he returned from injury to play his first game during the weekend as Sogndal beat Hønefoss.
The former Hearts of Oak star’s goal could spark his scoring form in the Norwegian second-tier league for Sogndal who are battling to regain promotion to the top-flight.
