Mahatma sparks row at Sogndal

Sogndal defender Gustav Valsvik has launched a stinging attack on head coach Jonas Olsson for leaving Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo on the bench in their 3-2 defeat to Valerenga.

It was a must-win game for both sides over the weekend, but victory stepped into the path of Valerenga after an 89th minute winner.

“I believe we should have done it,” Valsvik told NRK.no.

On the former Hearts of Oak goal poacher, Valsvik opined: “It could have been the best. I believe Otoo should have played, but it's the coach who makes choices and we respect that.”

However, coach Olsson feels and insists he knows best and took a decision in the interest of the team.

“I know that I am far better to consider this than Gustav. It is me who is coach, not him,” Olsson voiced out.
