The maiden edition of the ''Super Body'' Bodybuilding Championship, has been launched at the BOG Auditorium, Economics Department, University of Ghana, Legon.
The national championship, under the auspices of the Ghana Chapter of the World Amateur Bodybuilding Association (WABBA), would be held on November 16, at the same venue, with various athletes vying for the ultimate GH¢ 10, 000 cash prizes.
Mr. Victor Baiden, President of WABBA Ghana, said the championship, would offer the platform to help improve bodybuilders and showcase their talents to the world.
''We want to bring prestige to the sport of building and we want our bodybuilders to be seen as good athletes ready for the international world.
Mr. Baiden said, WABBA Ghana was focused on propelling the sports to greater height and has set a 2020 target for this agenda despite the various challenges.
Participants who took part in the judging and basic Gym instructors course at this year's ''Face of Fitness'' were presented with their certificates.
This year's championship would see various athletes compete in men's bodybuilding and physique in three categories which includes lightweight, middleweights and heavyweights with an open final stage to declare the overall winner.
Athletes who emerge successful in this championship will qualify to represent Ghana in various international WABBA competitions.
