Black Stars midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has caused a stir on social media with pictures flaunting his new look.

The Ghanaian, who plays for the Belgian Pro League club Anderlecht, showed up without his trademark dreadlocks as he begins preseason training.

Ashimeru shared photos of himself training with his teammates, debuting his fresh style.

He completed the necessary medical tests before the official start of training on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Anderlecht has a busy preseason ahead, with friendlies scheduled against SC Braga of Portugal, Germany's FC Wolfsburg, and FC Metz. These matches will be crucial as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

Last season was challenging for Ashimeru, who spent much of it recovering from injuries.

He was sidelined during Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Ivory Coast, being forced off in a game against Mozambique.

The 26-year-old midfielder hopes to remain injury-free this season and help Anderlecht return to their best form.

Ashimeru's injury woes also saw him miss Ghana's World Cup qualifiers in June.
