Chelsea and Manchester City are scrambling for 15 million Euro-rated defender Abdul Baba Rahman, French sports daily L'Equipe reports.
The Ghana international has turned heads with his composed performances in the German Bundesliga and scouts have flocked to take in his performances
The 20-year-old has made 28 appearances in the Bundesliga for Augsburg so far this season, fully establishing himself at the club.
Augsburg will not be keen on parting with Rahman so soon after snapping up and with the defender tied to a contract until 2019, are in a strong position.
Should Manchester City sign Rahman, it may place a question mark over left-back Aleksandar Kolarov' spot at the club, the Serbian having been linked with a move to Napoli.
Chelsea however, sees Rahman as an ideal replacement for Brazilian defender Filipe Luis who is keen to return to Atletico Madrid next season.
