Maritzburg offer Paintsil two-year contract extension

Ghana defender John Paintsil has been offered a two-year extension by Maritzburg United following his consistent display for the side this season.

The experienced right-back played all 30 matches in helping the Team of Choice achieve their highest ever finish – 8th – in the South African top flight.

Paintsil joined Maritzburg at the start of the season from lower tier side Santos on an initial two-year contract.

His impressive display has led the club to offer him an extension.

The Ghana international hints he is likely to sign the table offer to extend his stay at the club.

“Every footballer looks for satisfaction in his career and when you find it anywhere, you are happy, that’s how I can describe how I feel now,” the former Fulham man told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I am having a wonderful time here at Maritzburg and to help the club achieve its best league finish of a top 8 is worth celebrating.

“We look forward to next season and playing in the MTN8 tournament and it will be a chance for Maritzburg to win something special.”
