Maritzburg sign Mike Mohammed

South African side Maritzburg United have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian striker Mike Mohammed on a three-year deal.

The 23-year-old impressed during his trial session and signed ahead of the start of the Absa Premiership campaign on Friday.

But the former Mbabane Swallows player will miss their season opener against Mamelodi Sundowns.

He joins compatriots Mohammed Awal, John Pantsil and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi.

“We’ve signed Mike Mohammed. I’m not sure about the length (of the contract), but I think it’s a three-year contract,” Maritzburg’s Commercial driver Younus Kadodia told Goal.com

Kadodia also confirmed that all their newly signed foreign players will miss the first round of matches as they’re waiting their work permits in their own countries.

“All our foreign players are currently in their respective countries because their work permits are not sorted. So, they’ll definitely miss the first round of matches,” he added.
