Tema, July 29, GNA - Charles Martey scored 43 points to win the maiden "36 Hours of Freedom" Invitational Golf Championship played at the Tema Country Golf Course on Sunday.
He was followed by Dickson Keteku Larweh with 38 points, Ernest Opoku placed third with 34 points while Francis Andoh took the fourth position with 33 points.
In the ladies encounter, Andriana Hall came first with 39 points; Grace Amoah came second with 36 points while Florence Entwi-Barimah took the third position with 35 points.
The one-day 18-hole Stableford event which was aimed at creating awareness on erectile dysfunction was sponsored by Eli Lilly, a pharmaceutical company.
Mr Kweku Okyere, captain of the Tema Country Gulf Club thanked the company for the sponsorship and called on other corporate bodies to help develop the sport into international standards.
Mr Hudu Mogtari, Country Representative of Eli Lilly, advised them to quit smoking and reduce the intake of food containing high level of cholesterol.
He urged them to take active interest in physical education which was an effective way of preventing erectile dysfunction.
