The Confederation Of African Football has released the names of the match officials for the crucial penultimate matches involving Ghana?s two sides in the CAF Confederation Cup, Kumasi Asante Kotoko vrs Enugu Rangers of Nigeria, as well as Accra Hearts Of Oak vrs Santos Of South Africa .
Close sources have confirmed that the Asante Kotoko-Enugu Rangers match to be played in Enugu, Nigeria on Saturday,October 30,2004 will be officiated by Moroccan referees with Mohammed Guezzaz being in the centre of affairs, with his two lieutenants on the lines being Abdellazziz Dabhi and Abdelmagid Jeddioui, both from Morocco. Sani Zubelo of Nigeria is the fourth referee with Omar Sey of Gambia and Magasouba being appointed as the match commissioner and CAF?s general coordinator respectively.
In the Hearts Of Oak-Santos Of South Africa match also to be played on the same day, Referee Joseph Musasa of Zimbabwe will be the man-in- black in the thick of affairs , with assistance from fellow countrymen, Brighton Mudzamiri and Gladmore Muzambi on the lines. Shahine Marar has been appointed by CAF as their General Coordinator with Ashford Mamelodi of Botswana being the match commissioner.
It should be on record that both Hearts and Kotoko need at least a draw in those two away matches to enhance their chances of getting to the finals of the maiden competition, and finally accounting for their opponents in the last matches to be played in Accra and Kumasi two weeks after.
