Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways after three matches as they inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Berekum Chelsea on matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The Phobians welcomed Berekum Chelsea to the Accra Sports Stadium in a shaky mood after losing their last three games in all competitions.

But they dominated their opponents right from the commencement of the game and deservedly opened the scoring through inspirational captain Thomas Abbey in the 41st minute after connecting to a Wilfred Cobbinah's defense splitting pass.

The visitors came into the game strongly after conceding the opening as they threatened to restore parity but the defense of the Phobians stood the test.

Hearts came back from recess very determined to seal victory as they attacked Chelsea with the ball but wasted the chances that came their way, with talisman Wilfred Cobbinah the chief culprit.

Thomas Abbey registered his 10th goal of the campaign in the 46th minute when he ghosted Chelsea defenders to power home the Phobians second of the afternoon.

The win lifts Hearts back into 3rd position with 36 points, one ahead of their sworn rivals Asante Kotoko ahead of their much anticipated clash on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
