Match Report: Wa All Stars 1-0 Eleven Wonders

Wa All Stars Wa All Stars

First half strike by Maxwell Oppong was enough for Wa All Stars to overcome Eleven Wonders on Match Day 15 of the Zylofon Premier League at the Malik Jabir Park on Sunday.

Wa All Stars were under enormous pressure to get their ailing campaign back on track after going nine games without victory when they welcomed mid-table side Eleven Wonders to the Malik Jabir Park.

The Northern Blues commenced the game on a front foot as they pinned Wonders into their half with the aim of getting the opener.

The hosts kept pushing for the initiative but failed to make it count on the scoreboard as Wonders deployed the defensive tactics. Wa All Stars were handed a breather after defender Wahid Ishahaku was given his marching orders for unsporting behaviour.

All Stars deservedly shot into the lead against the round of play courtesy Maxwell Oppong - the forward was very fortunate as goalkeeper John Moosi attempted corner clearance fell kindly in-front of him. He made no mistake by powering his shot into the left corner of the post.

Eleven Wonders came back from recess all gun blazing as they were determined to pull parity but could not capitalize on the half chances that came their way.

All Stars were put under serious pressure in the dying embers of the match but they held on to record their first win in nine outings.
