Camelot Ghana Limited, ticket printers for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) used for premier football league matches, is to take measures to forestall security breaches in its operations. This move is sequel to the arrest last Sunday of a part time worker of the company who was alleged to have printed and sold his own tickets during the Accra Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics local derby at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In a statement signed by Mr John Colin Villars, Acting Managing Director of the company, Camelot pledged to co-operate with the GFA in assisting the police in their investigations. Consequently, series of meetings have been arranged between Camelot and the GFA to address the issue.
Meanwhile, feelers received by GNA Sports revealed that the suspect, whose name is being withheld for security reasons, is a full time worker with the Ministry of Finance, but works with Camelot on part time basis.
The main suspect was arrested when a tout, who was caught selling unauthorised tickets, mentioned his name as the one who gave him the tickets. The incident is a serious blow to Camelot, as the company is a market leader in security printing in the country, with the banks and other commercial entities as their clients
