It is now a countdown to the more-likely event of Swedish tactician, Tom Strand becoming the new head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak after officials of the Rainbow club met and were given a green-light consent on Friday evening by their Yellow and Mauves counterpart, Medeama SC,the current employers of Strand.
Both clubs are acting in a professional process in what will be a marquee signing for Hearts after the Phobians initiated an official approach for the coach with a letter of interest to Medeama on Wednesday,October 14.
Hearts had their wishes granted by Medeama at Friday evening meeting in Accra that Tom Strand could leave Tarkwa for Accra subject to a fulfillment of the compensation packages demanded by Medeama.
Negotiations are expected to be concluded in next few days before Strand returns from his home country after holidaying and renewing his passports.
Strand is left with a year on his two year running contract with the Tarkwa based side when he in 2014/15 season from Bechem United in a similar circumstance after completing one season from his two year deal.
Strand successfully guided Medeama to reclaim glory in last season's FA Cup beating Asante Kotoko 2-1 in the final which also gets Medeama into the CAF Confederations Cup competition next season.
The Swedish in his two seasons stint in the Ghana Premier League has shown his outstanding competence and he preceded the FA Cup triumph by first finishing 5th with the less fancied Bechem Utd in the 2013/14 season and producing a top scorer in Augustine Okrah with 16 goals.
