Medeama beat Chelsea to secure top-flight status

Medeama coasted to a vital 2-0 win over Berekum Chelsea to confirm their top-flight status for next year.

The Mauve and Yellows needed just a point from the game to stay afloat after dropping points in recent matches.

Midfielder Malik Akowuah put the host in front with a fabulous free kick in the first half before striker Nathaniel Asamoah sealed the points.

It was a well-deserved win for Medeama as they dominated the game from the blast of the whistle.

The win ensures their top-flight status is secured for another term.

But for Chelsea, the remaining two matches will prove crucial as they cannot afford any more slips.

They lie just above the relegation zone.
