Medeama have dragged Great Olympics to the Ghana FA regarding the wrongful appointment of Swedish coach Tom Marcus Strand, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
In what could turned out to a legal showdown between the two parties, Medeama are seeking substantial damages from the Wonder Club for its unprofessional conduct.
Olympics have called the bluff of the Mauve and Yellows, claiming it did no wrong in engaging the Swedish trainer.
But Medeama Director of Communication Patrick Akoto has confirmed his outfit has filed a petition against the club and the coach.
"It's nauseating and irritating if officialdom tries to put up a needless show of bravado publicly, yet nicodemously attempts to speak to the conscience of the club top hierarchy," he told Joy FM
"We have a valid contract with Tom Strand and we're clear in our mind Great Olympics erred.
"It's a responsibility of any club to be diligent in these matters and we'll not be held liable for their negligence and unprofessional conduct.
"I can confirm to you that we have notified the Ghana FA on the matter and we'll allow them to dispense justice.
The 2016 CAF Confederation Cup campaigners insist they hold the economic right of the European.
Medeama have informed the Ghana FA regarding the situation of Strand on three separate occasions since he went missing while on international duty in May last year.
"It will be recalled that the club has reported the conduct of Coach Tom Marcus C. Strand to your outfit on several occasions, the latest sent to you on the 21ST March, 2017," part of the letter signed by Chief Executive James Essilfie and cited by GHANAsoccernet.com read
"An attempt to let the coach report officially to his working base in Tarkwa and to notify Accra Great Olympics FC to do due diligence in engaging our missing coach have proved futile and abortive."
GHANAsoccernet.com sources say owners of Great Olympics have been in constant touch with Medeama president Moses Armah over the possibility of softening his stance.
But recent public utterances from the clubs subordinates including the General Manager Oloboi Commodore has angered the Tarkwa-based side.
Strand was on the bench as Olympics recorded a rare 0-0 draw at Liberty Professionals in the Accra derby on Sunday.
