Medeama open talks with Lebanese Tripoli SC over Michael Helegbe transfer

Medeama SC have commenced talks with Tripoli SC over the transfer of midfielder Michael Helegbe.

The 28-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Lebanese club without the consent of Medeama with whom he has a valid contract.

The move infuriated officials of Medeama who threatened legal action against Helegbe and the club.

But Tripoli SC have contacted the Ghanaian Premier League club with the aim of reaching an amicable solution.

“We have made contact with the club and therefore some interactions are ongoing,” Medeama spokesman Tony Nkrumah Boateng told Peace FM.

“Talks have commenced and advancing so we wait to see what eventually happens.” Helegbe joined Medeama last season on a two-year deal from Asante Kotoko – meaning his still has a year remaining on his existing deal with the Tarkwa-based side.
