Asante Kotoko pursuit to sign Justice Blay permanently from Medeama SC has been hit with a blow after the Tarkwa based club placed all transfers, contract talk and loan deal on hold.
According to an earlier statement released by the Ghana Premier League side, all contract talks which includes loan deals are placed on hold as the club is unsure of the current state of the Ghana Premier League.
“The club has taken a decision to put all contracts talks on hold. We want to be sure about the certainty of the league before we resume any form of talks,” Medeama’s Communication Director Patrick Akoto told the club’s official website.
“The decision includes new signings, renewals and loaned players.
“We are in constant touch with the Ghana FA and as and when a decision is made by the federation, we will know the way forward.”
Asante Kotoko were hoping to finalize a permanent deal for the service of the defensive midfielder who has become an instant hit with the Porcupine Warriors.
With a transfer placed on Kotoko by the club’s life-time patron and owner Otumuo Osei Tutu II, the Porcupine Warriors are desperate to finalize the deal with the Tarkwa-based side.
Blay is expected to return to his parent club after ending his season long loan in Kumasi.
