Meet Ghana's nine athletes set to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris

The 2024 Olympic Games are just 15 days away from beginning in Paris, France, and Ghana is hopeful that its athletes will bring home medals in the track and field events.

Ghana will be represented by nine athletes in athletics at the Games, which are scheduled to kick off on Friday, July 26, 2024.

Team Ghana has already left for Strasbourg, France, to continue their preparations for the Games.

The athletes will be participating in six different events, including the 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, high jump, and 50m freestyle swimming.

Below are the nine athletes who will be representing Ghana at the Olympic Games in Paris:

Joseph Paul Amoah

Joseph Paul Amoah, the 200m sprinting star, will only be competing in the 4x100m relay after failing to qualify for the 200m event.

Rasheed Saminu

Issac Botsio will be participating in the 4x100m relay.

Benjamin Azamati

Benjamin Azamati will be competing in the 100m and the 4x100m relay.

Edwin Gadayi

Edwin Gadayi is a member of the 4x100m relay team.

Fuseini Ibrahim

Fuseini Ibrahim is also a member of the 4x100m relay team.

Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah

Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, the reigning African high jump champion, will be the first Ghanaian female to compete in the high jump at the Olympics.

Harry Stacey

Harry Stacey and Joselle Mensah both qualified for the Olympics through wildcard selections and will be competing in the Men's Swimming 100m freestyle and Women's 50m freestyle swimming events, respectively.

Mensah, just like Stacy qualified via wildcard selection and will compete in the Women's 50m freestyle swimming event.
